كلّفتُ بإعداد نصٍّ تقيميٍّ لمعرض «هشام بنجابي: ذاكرة المدينة والناس»، وذلك ضمن برنامج «بلد الفن» في جدة، وبتكليفٍ فنيٍّ من القيمين والفنانين أيمن ديدبان ونهلة خوقير

وإلى جانب النصّ التقييمي، جاء هذا التكليف مقالة نظرية شعرية بعنوان «المدينة، مثل دوّاراتها، تدور»؛ مقالةٌ تنفتح على الذاكرة والبعد الحسيّ، مستعيدةً تجربة المدينة كفضاءٍ فنيٍّ يُمكن تأويله من منطلقين متوازيين: المنطلق الشخصي، ومنجز الفنان. إذ يحضر هشام بنجابي هنا كفنانٍ ونحّات، وكصانعٍ لملامح الفضاء العام للمدينة، وذاكرتي الشخصية فيها فنيًا واجتماعيًا معًا

I developed a curatorial text for ‘Hisham Benjabi: Memory of the City and the People and the Nation’ exhibition, as part of Balad Al-Fann in Jeddah, curated by Ayman Daydban and Nahla Khogeer.

Alongside this curatorial text, I was commissioned to write a theoretical essay titled The City, Like Its Roundabouts, Spins. This piece situates memory and sensory experience as vital entry points for reading the city as a living cultural space, an urban archive of gestures, encounters, and traces. In this context, Hisham Benjabi emerges not only as an artist and sculptor but as a cultural agent whose practice shapes the city’s public sphere, mediating between aesthetic expression and the social fabric that sustains it, and how I remember it.
